Thursday, May 29, 2003 I had two plans for yesterday evening: a birthday party for a one-year old and out for a drink at some country music joint (in NYC!) with a colleague. But I worked until 10.30 PM and by then it was too late for either of them. So I got to stay home, where I did not even bother turning on the tv so I could quietly go back to my book. And what a book it is. The author, Dani Shapiro , will be at Housing Works for a reading next month and I will be there, clapping till my hands are raw. 9:10 AM
